I made my first baked brie this past week as a Thanksgiving appetizer and I think it is going to be my new go-to dish for large gatherings! It is surprisingly easy and fast to make and it was great to get lots of compliments on it from family members – that’s the best part of cooking!

Apple Walnut Baked Brie

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of thawed puff pastry
  • 1 apple, chopped into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinammon
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 6 ounce brie
  • 1 egg

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place the butter in a pan over medium heat and whisk in the brown sugar. Add the chopped apple and walnuts and sauté until the apples are tender. Stir in cinnamon. Lay the sheet of puff pastry on a cookie sheet coated with non-stick spray. Place the brie in the middle, and top with the apple and walnut mixture. Pull the edges of the puff pastry up and over the brie and toppings, pinching to seal. Whisk the egg with a tablespoon of water and brush on the puff pastry dough. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden. Top the brie with any remaining apple and walnut mixture before serving!
