This year’s Baltimore Faerie Faire is the first event I’ve photographed since the start of the pandemic, and it was so nice to be back out there! This event is perfect for people of all ages who want to escape into a fairytale for the day, with faeries, mermaids, belly dancers, pirate songs, vendors (may have bought some cute clothes, a flower crown, and some jewelry for myself while I was there!), and musicians. The environment was really inclusive and welcoming to all, and there were some areas of the venue that had live music, while others were quieter (check out the adorable napping gnome below!) in case you wanted a little downtime too.
Seeing Frenchy and the Punk again was really fun and sentimental because they were the first live music that my not-so-little one saw when he was a baby and we lived across the country. And we got to see them again together 16 years later!
You can find a calendar of Big Whimsy events throughout the year right here. Most are in the general Baltimore area, but the group does travel to the east coast and midwest for events as well, so be sure to check even if you’re not local!
