Last year at a local bloggers dinner, I had the pleasure of meeting Tanvi, a DC-based fashion blogger with a beautiful, bold, and colorful style. I was really excited for the event because I had hoped to meet people to collaborate on photo content with, particularly creatives who have varied styles from my own. I tend to stick to the basic black artists’ uniform, for ease of wear and time savings, so I really admire people who are skilled at matching bold colors and accessories – and clearly, Tanvi is one of those people! 🙂
We met early in the morning near the American Visionary Art Museum, well known around Baltimore for unusual exhibitions and for the sparkling sculpture garden. If you’re close by, it is well worth the visit and checking out their event calendar for really fun and unique events like the Small Foods competition and the Kinetic Sculpture Race. The morning was quite cold but Tanvi was very tough and stuck it out in pretty spring attire so we could still get our photos! We met at the AVAM as planned and shot there for awhile, but drifted around the Inner Harbor area a bit. I like to have loose plans for shoots like these, but also have the flexibility to check out another location that may catch our eye too! Inspiration can be found all over. My favorite photo is the one I caught of Tanvi laughing, because I love photos that show personality. Next time we shoot I’d love to capture some more candid moments like that!
